Transparent Firewall Mode

Lesson 5 of 6

Transparent Firewall Mode

Introduction:
In this lesson, we will configure the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) in transparent mode, which allows it to function as a Layer 2 firewall. This configuration is essential for securing traffic between different VLANs without changing the existing IP addressing scheme, making it useful in various network environments.

Quick Recap:
In the previous lessons, we set up routers R1, R2, and R4, and established their respective interfaces and IP addresses. For this lesson, we will focus on configuring the ASA as a transparent firewall, connecting it to VLANs 101 and 102.
